What is Onboarding?

The Purpose of Onboarding is to:

  • Help employees to quickly become acculturated and impactful to the business
  • Help employees utilize corporate resources and business-specific methodologies and approaches
  • Provide a consistent experience for new employees
  • Make sure employees feel welcome and valued

The Goals of Onboarding are to:

  • Reduce the time to productivity for new employees
  • Increase employee retention
  • Improve employee engagement
  • Provide consistent information about the organization
  • Provide relevant information for all employees (i.e. E-210, JHED ID, etc.)
  • Understand employee expectations
